I was touched for the first time by classical music at the age of 13 with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem; I always listened to it falling asleep for many months. I decided at that time that I would use it as the music for my funeral. After I got to know Gustav Mahler, I changed my funeral music to his third symphony. So this is a short summary about my passion in classical music.
As a percussionist, I am always excited by performing different difficulties on stage. Too many instruments, too many notes, too fast changes… Fascinating! In the contemporary music world, percussionists have all these problems too. I enjoy the imperfectly beautiful music with those challenges, and I know music how it is will naturally come back to me.
